Cleveland rose to the top of the east

Eastern Top 25: When Rolesville went down to Pinecrest, there had to be a new No. 1 east of the state. Cleveland, who directed Cary to open the season, crosses. Richmond, who drove the reigning 3AA champion Mount Tabor (Tabor is now 4A), jumps second to Gibbons, but the Crusaders frightened West No. 1 Chambers last week.

Pinecrest started the season without organizing, but won eighth after winning. Millbrook will replace the team it won in week 1, Apex Friendship, while Rocky Mount will jump to 19th place after defeating Tarboro. Seventy-First gets its top 25 performances after Cape Fear struggled with the Divers Riverside, and Jacksonville also moves. Clayton fell to Grimsley after a one-sided defeat, while Hunt replaces JH Rose after a big shock.
