Real Madrid have made a 137 million bid to get Parisian St-Germain striker Kylian Mbappen.
The French World Cup winner, 22, joined PSG in 2017 for a transfer of 165.7 million and his contract expires in June 2022.
Mbappe has scored 133 goals in 174 games on PSG and won three Ligue 1 championships and three French Cups.
Real Madrid, which has a lot of publicity on financial matters, has signed defender David Alaba only with a free transfer from Bayern Munich this summer.
However, high-income Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane have moved to PSG and Manchester United.
It is not known how the fee would be constructed.
PSG, which have not yet responded to the offer, signed by Argentine striker Lionel Mess earlier this month when he left Barcelona.
If Real succeeds, it can launch multiple trades before the transfer time.
It is known that Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Juventus is uncertain and PSG is believed to be interested in the Portuguese, raising a fascinating opportunity to connect with Messi, his rival as the best player in the world for more than a decade.
Manchester City is one of those clubs that has been offered Ronaldo but is not believed to be interested in the deal.
Last week, both Ronaldo and Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri denied the attacker wanted to leave.
“Agreement confuses people”
French football journalist Robin Bairner BBC Radio 5 live
(How this deal works) confuses people in France at the moment, as well as how PSG can reject a huge offer for a player who is out of contract in less than 12 months, and how a club like Real Madrid is so deeply in debt that they can afford to spend so much money .
We don’t know how the deal is built; there is no indication, certainly from a French point of view, of how Real is going to pay this 160 million euros, whether it is 80 million in advance and 80 million bonus, it is not clear.
I really don’t think anyone expects them to pay € 160 million in advance and, of course, pay Mbappe’s salaries, which are more than half a million euros a week.
For PSG, valuation is more important than money for its owners, apparently from Qatar. Mbappe is one of their most prestigious possessions; he’s a guy they really don’t want to lose, and it’s a battle PSG isn’t used to losing. They have usually been able to buy whoever they want, and of course Mbappe opposes. It’s a slightly unfamiliar situation for them during the 10 years they’ve been in charge.
I realized that PSG was not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
They intended to keep Mbappe, although their attitude towards Mbappe seems to have softened a bit over the last couple of days, at least behind the scenes, if not in public.
They are looking for other alternatives; Everton’s Richarlison is mentioned as one. It just seems impossible for them to sign on Ronaldo Mbappe just because of the salary he imposed, but PSG is a club that doesn’t seem to matter. If they got 160 yards from Mbappe, they might be able to go sign Ronaldo for a couple of years.
