Canes reaches a partnership agreement with the Admirals of Norfolk

RALEIGH, NC – Don Waddell, President and CEO of the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that Hurricanes has entered into an alliance agreement with the ECHL Norfolk Admirals during the 2021-22 season.

The Admirals have been based in Norfolk, Va., Since 1989. Originally called the Hampton Roads Admirals, the team competed in the ECHL from 1989-2000 and won the league championship in 1991, 1992 and 1998. The game series joined the American Hockey League (AHL) as Admirals of Norfolk in 2000 and won the Calder Cup in 2012. Norfolk rejoined the ECHL in 2015.
