Arcade1UP’s Infinity Game Table Review: Family Game Night is modern

If the Nintendo Wii showed us one thing, people of all kinds would want to play games. But to reach an audience, games need to present their experiences in a more streamlined and simpler way. Today, we have several companies trying to conquer the Wii magic. This includes Intellivision with controls like Amicon smartphone. But it also includes Arcade1UP and it Infinity game table, which I think has the best chance of success.

Now, success doesn’t mean Infinity Game Table will turn into the next Wii game. But I think it could be a relatively expensive Christmas present for families looking for a way to bring everything to the table on game night. The desk itself is a large touch screen computer platform. You can you get it from Best Buy in either 24-inch ($ 650) or 32-inch model ($ 850). And Infinity has dozens of games ranging from timeless public domain classics (chess, backgammon, nine Mens Morris) and favorite products (Monopoly, Battleshipand Yahtzee).

The Infinity table reminds me most of the Nintendos Clubhouse Games console. This package includes 51 global classics for just $ 40. And at first, it may seem like a difficult comparison to the Infinity table. I guess except Arcade1UP has done a lot to make sure this device makes sense and can deliver on its promise.

You get a lot for your money

Starting at $ 650, the table raises it above the price of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but I think it’s pretty fair compared to what you get. For this price, you get a table with a large touch screen and a huge number of games. If you bought chess games, battleships, hints, and everything else, I’m not going to do the calculations, but I think it would probably add hundreds of dollars. The Infinity Chart brings all of these things together into one easy-to-use touchscreen device.

And using a digital hub for your board games is valuable in itself. Games like Monopoly and even Gutters and ladders there is a time cost. You have to commit to setting them up and then removing them. And you need to set aside space to store them. All of these things combine with the actual costs, which the table mostly eliminates.

For example, my children are young. So whenever we’ve tried to play board games, it’s gone bad. They don’t want to take turns or fight over who gets to play as an ice cream cone Candy Land. And that’s why I’ve mostly avoided setting up games like that Gutters and ladders to them on our family table. But with the Infinity table, it wasn’t the end of the world when the kids started behaving badly, and I had to interrupt the game. I turned off the table, cleaned up a few snacks, and put everyone to sleep.

And then surprisingly the next night we tried again because the installation is so simple and the kids behaved much better. It would be something I would have forgotten in the physical game because I wouldn’t have taken the time to set it up the second night in a row.

Turning furniture into an event

The success of my family at the tables is that everyone wants to play with it. It has a large, attractive display when you turn it on. When you turn it off, it’s a stylish looking piece of furniture. I tested a smaller, 24-inch model, and I use it almost like a coffee table in front of my office TV. In the evenings the kids come down to sit with me, and we ended up spending some time at the table almost every night.

It helps that the table doesn’t seem to be in the way or that we want to hide it in a corner. It can sit in the middle of the room and not pay attention. Then when it’s time to play, it’s easy to put everything around.

Arcade1UP also spent a lot of time on the gaming experience. These are not just ports for Android games. The developers of board games built experiences specifically for the device. This means that they usually make sense when you sit around you and interact from different perspectives on a cocktail machine. It also means that Arcade1UP was able to add features such as house rules Monopoly, Battleship, and other games.

At the same time, games can feel simple and sterile. If chess looks shiny and hyperrealistic at Clubhouse Games, it looks closer to something you get from HTML5 online. Everything still works, but Arcade1UP’s production values ​​are lower than Nintendo’s. It also helps that sitting in a circle with other real people in your family makes up for a lot of missing games.

Expandable, connectable and easy to live

Since I started testing the Infinity table, Arcade1UP has added a handful of new free games. It includes the above Battleship. And when I’m in the home menu, the machine has a window where it promises more games. Hint is one I am really excited to try.

So far, all of these additional games have joined the table as free upgrades, but the company plans to start selling some of the more extensive table games in its store. Soon you should be able to get Ticket and other European-style board games.

But as with all games, you can play against other local players or against friends around the world who also have a table at home. So while you may lose something in touches, you get the chance to play easily online while maintaining the feeling of a traditional game night.

I haven’t had a chance to test buying or playing these high quality games, so I evaluate the table primarily based on what comes in the pack. And I’m pretty impressed.

Arcade1UP Infinity Game Table is easy to use and easy to live with. It looks attractive in most homes as modern furniture. And when it’s time to play, it’s easy to set it up and download new games. For a small family with small children, the 24-inch model is great. And I think the price is pretty good for what you get. And I think there’s a lot more use for a game table in a real home than a game room closet, table tennis, or other great Christmas presents.
