New Zealand cricket approved the Pakistan tour: report

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has approved its upcoming tour of Pakistan after receiving a security clearance, according to a report posted on Stuff.co.nz.

According to the website, it is understood that the tour has been approved by NZC by Reg Dickason, an independent security consultant, following a regular security check.

This was part of the usual pre-round process, as NZC and the New Zealand Cricket Players Association have agreed over the last 12 years.

New Zealand is set to compete against Pakistan in the five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series in Lahore and the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series in Rawalpindi.

The New Zealand team is expected to travel to Pakistan on September 11 after finishing their T20I series against Bangladesh.

Stand-in captain Tom Latham spoke to Dhaka’s Stuff.co.nz and revealed that his page will move to Pakistan after the series ends against Bangladesh.

“Someone like Regin, he’s been involved for a long time and worked with New Zealand Cricket for a long time. We here have full confidence in what he is doing for New Zealand cricket and the processes and regulations they are putting in place. At this point, we will focus on Bangladesh, but we will focus on Pakistan once this series is completed, ”Latham said.
