While China’s power position is still in full swing, the UK is divided ahead of the overall medal more than any other country. China has a total of 132 medals, but the UK has bagged 80 to make the top of the leaderboard a little more competitive. The U.S. team (67 medals) is in fifth place overall, where they have been since the start of the 2020 Paralympics.

There have been so many exciting finishes in the events, from teams returning to individual races that were solved in fractions of a second!
Today’s medal events include athletics, bocce, shooting, swimming, table tennis, cycling and wheelchair tennis. A total of 156 medals will be awarded today in 52 events in seven sports.
In other competition events, badminton begins its first day, and goal ball, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball are live. Badminton is the third to last event to begin this year, with canoe sprint and taekwondo starting tomorrow.
The 2016 Rio Paralympics were also dominated by China, when the nation achieved an overall medal victory, eventually receiving the most gold, silver and bronze. In fact, China has won the Paralympics in 2016, 2012, 2008 and 2004 and has steadily increased its dominance every four years.
