HS Sports Tour: The FM field hockey captures the crown of the season opener

By four different scorers on Thursday, the Fayetteville-Manlius field hockey team won for the second time in so many days and took first place in their season opener. The Hornets made a 1-0 decision for Cazenovia on Wednesday and won the East Syracuse Minoa 4-1 championship match.

Ella Sanders, Carlye Bryant, Carine Smith and Nora Wilson all lowered targets for FM and Wilson and Ella Herber went to assist with the song. Kaleigh Hamilton took two fights in the title game.

At a loss, Marisa Cain scored a goal for the Spartans from the scoreboard Reiley Murphy. Maura Leib was strong in the ESM cage and did 18 fights.

Next up in the Hornets match is a match with Whitesboro at 5pm on September 10th, and the Spartans expect to recover while dancing with Canastoa at 6.15pm on Tuesday.

Cazenovia 3, Cortland 1

In the consolation match, the Lakers leveled their mark with a 1-1 victory over the Tigers. Nadia Segal, Sammy Sparks and Hadley Schug found the back of the cage for Cazenovia and Jadyn beams scored for Cortland.

Auburn 2, Port Byron / Union Springs 0 (Weedsport Tournament)

The Maroons won the Weedsport tournament by winning the Port Byron / Union Springs championship match. Zarya White there was a brick wall in victory that stopped all nine shots he faced. So then and Ahndria Wilson each scored goals.

Homer 8, Cato-Meridian 0 (Weedsport Tournament)

The Trojans stole the Blue Devils in a consolation match, and four players scored a couple of goals. Molly McMasters, Sara Cargen, Morgan Brown and Carley Calabro everyone had a couple of goals, and Emily Daniels recorded four fights.

Liverpool 3, Dutch Patent 2 (OT)

The Warriors represented the Golden Knights in a thriller that lasted 10 minutes of overtime as well as the final one-on-one stage.

In the regulation, each team scored a goal in both halves before two goalless extra frames.

Liverpool’s scorers in regulation were Jewelyana Daniels and Breanna Puccia, Meanwhile Haley Acevedo and Makes it easier for Alexander scored a goal in the Dutch patent. The Warriors scored three times in a one-on-one final, Daniels, Mia Berthoff and Gianna Carbone finding the back of the network.

Maggie Cummings scored the only goal of the final round for the Golden Knights against the Liverpool goalkeeper McKenna Ecker.

Marcellus 3, Jamesville-DeWitt 0

The Mustangs began the fall by swiping visiting the Red Rams, 25-16, 25-13, 25-12. With the defeat, JD drops 1-1.

Jenna Mattison recorded 15 points and four aces for Marcellus and his teammates Elaine Grattan led all players in 12 wells and also added three aces. Sophia Ferris led red rams in the excavations (nine), killed (five) and aces (two) and Cadence Milligan gave the team’s best eight passes and eight digs.

Boys golf

Oswego 188, Cortland 198

Tigers despite a junior round low of 34 Andrew Partigianoni, The Buccaneers took a tough win to move on 2-1. Oswegoa led Jack OLeary and Kevin Waters, who played 36 and 37, respectively.
