Phillies v Marlins: Archie Bradley suffers a terrible loss in Miami again

Ranger Suarez, Hector Neris and Connor Brogdon had closed the Marlins to seven innings. The crime hadn’t done much, but just enough.

The Phillies were on their way to the evening for another important, late-season series in Miami.

Then they suffer from a gut that always seems to happen in Marlins Park. Archie Bradley allowed three eighth-round runs, including a two-way double lap for Lewis Brinson. The Phillies lost 3-2.

Phils is 69-66 and plays 27 games. They started the evening with two games behind the Braves, who are still playing at Coors Field.

The Phillies have lost 20 of their last 31 games at Marlins Park. They are in the 7-8 season series and have reached .217.

“Miguel Rojas (RBI single at eighth) is a borderline Hall of Fame player against Phillies, I feel,” said Bradley, who is spending his first year here. “We talked about it early on that we have to beat the Marlins. Look what they said last season, if we win the Marlins, we’ll get to the playoffs. It’s a bit of the same scenario here.

“These guys play us really well, and I mean, that’s what we’re definitely talking about. Not that we put more pressure on us, but we know history, we know the losses of the late game. It’s something that in a positive way, it’s like ‘let’s go get these guys, beat these guys. “Because we should, we’re not, we have tomorrow. Victory tomorrow is a long way for us.

It was the 11th loss of Phillie’s season when it led in the eighth inning or later. The only team among the big companies that has dropped more games in these situations is Marlins.

Andrew McCutchen put them on the table in the fourth set with their 23rd home team of the season. Suarez, the starting propeller, added an excuse to the RBI double game.

Suarez started five goalless innings with seven attacks. He threw 71 throws after throwing 95 and 99 in his last two starts. Director Joe Girardi and Suarez said he is dealing with a slightly dead arm as he continues to develop his endurance as a beginner. Suarez said he felt fatigue in his stretchers and admitted it could be due to these two higher pitches.

He has 1.71 ERA in seven starts after joining the Phillies Tour. During this period, Aaron Nolan’s ERA is 5.46, Zack Wheeler’s 4.81 and Kyle Gibson’s 4.79.

Bradley had risen so well in six weeks from June 30 to mid-August, but has struggled late. He has allowed nine well-earned runs in his last eight turns as his ERA has risen from 2.52 to 3.92.

Saturday was crucial to this three-game set as the Phillies have a bull game on Sunday. Now they’ve already lost the series and have a chance to sweep, which would undo the positivity in the series they just swept in DC

Phils has four matches left with the Marlins. They can control whether they hear throughout the offseason that Miami has the number again. This weekend has not raised much hope.

“It’s frustrating, but you have to turn the page and move on to tomorrow and find a way to win the game,” Girardi said. “The loss of those two games didn’t stop us. There are still 27 games left and we need to play better. We need to do more runs.”
