Italy finished the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo on Sunday with 69 medals, one of the country’s all-time highs.

At the Tokyo Paralympics, Italy was strong in athletics, cycling, fencing, archery, table tennis and dressage, but where it was most successful was swimming, winning a total of 39 medals: 11 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze.

The most awarded swimmer was 23-year-old Stefano Raimondi, who won a total of seven medals: one gold, four silver and two bronze.
