Discovery Sports has announced that it has reached an agreement with Tennis Australia to broadcast the Australian Open live and exclusively at the pan-European level until 2031.
Starting in 2022, the long-term contract includes all linear and digital rights and expands the Eurosports Association’s tennis calendar with the first Grand Slam tournament to more than 25 years when it sent its first Australian Open in 1995.
As part of the ten-year deal, Discovery will use its beloved global channels, platforms and brands, including Eurosport and streaming service Discovery + for real-life entertainment, to take Australia’s open to a larger and wider audience than ever before.

In addition to world-class tennis, Discovery is partnering with Tennis Australia on a wide range of lifestyles and entertainment content to tell more about the tournament’s rich stories and by going beyond the sport alone. World-renowned for showcasing real-life, non-fiction covering a variety of popular categories such as Home, Adventure, Travel, Food, Nature, Environment and Science, Discovery and Tennis Australia, aims to engage the entire household audience to help grow the tournament over the next decade .
Eurosport also has exclusive rights to AO kick-off events, including the pan-European Adelaide International ATP Tournament, which provides world players with vital match habits ahead of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
