Oakland As Game # 139: Frankie Montas rises again, leading to victory over the Chicago White Sox

The As lineup scored four innings, their starting pitcher provided seven strong frames, and their bull puppies held a 5-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox at the Colosseum on Wednesday. Oakland broke the losing streak in four games and won for the seventh time in his last 22 races.

For Olson, it was a small redemption because his misconduct on the defensive field at the start of the inning had helped contribute to the opponent’s run. Here, he got it back in RBI form, even though he was thrown out of bases during the game.

They continued to push in the sixth and enjoyed insurance. Gomes single, his third time to reach the base tonight, and two out Chad Pinder lined triple to the right corner of the field to bring Gomes from the start.

Andrus followed the single and knocked Pinder home.

Oakland ended the evening with 10 hits, and eight different players applied for at least one. The four hits were extra, and they went 3: 7 and the runners in scoring.
