It was the perfect day for tennis, especially if you like strong winds and even more if you like Gibraltar Carlson. Marauders won 7-1 visiting Allen Park in a Downriver League match where all matches except one were settled in straight series.

The Jaguars lonely victory that day came in fourth. Allen Parks Connor Mulligan beat Chase Agemak 3-6, 3-6.

Marauders served the rest of the matches in the winning column.

In singles, John Hesson defeated Andrew Dmitruchina 6-2, 6-3. Jake Slezinger overtook Trevor Stanley 6-0, 6-1 and Aden Brake beat Nick Corona 6-3, 6-2.

Carlsons No. 1 double team Jonah Mahon and Mason Willis defeated Logan Jent and Jack Kleinow 6-0, 6-0. No. 2 doubles Carlsons duo Alex Klim and Cooper Ratliff beat Matt Price and Aaron Andrysiak 6-1, 6-1.

The most competitive match of the day was number 3. Carlsons team John Hojnowski and Nick Riley beat Tyler Bunsen and Miles Brooks 6-2, 4-6, 10-2.

In No. 4 doubles, the Carlson duo of Shivam Patel and Damen Buller defeated Andrew Crawford and Zach Merritt 6-0, 6-0.

Carlson was scheduled to host Grosse Ile the next day in a non-league battle, while Allen Park will visit Southgate Anderson on Monday, Sept. 13.
