Rajeev Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Cricket of India, says talks with the England and Wales Cricket Committee are under way to resolve the issues “amicably” after the cancellation of the fifth and final test in the series, which was due to start in Manchester. Friday.

Asked if the match will be played later, Shukla replied, “These negotiations are ongoing.”

The Fifth Test between India and England was canceled because “the number of COVID cases continued to rise” within the Indian camp.

“Following a discussion with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the Fifth Insurance Test between men in England and India, which begins today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be canceled,” the ECB’s press release said.

Before the match, physicist Yogesh Parmar received a positive COVID-19 test in Manchester. This had led to the cancellation of the team’s Indian Thursday afternoon practice.

However, the English camp had no COVID-19 concerns, and Jos Buttler had said everything was fine, and the hosts were looking forward to the match before the match was canceled on Friday.
