Volleyball beats Arizona 3-1

Austin, Texas No. 1 Texas Volleyball faced a tough test against Arizona, but won 3-1, 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22 on Friday at Gregory Gymnasium.

Longhorns remained undefeated and improved 6-0 this season.

Asjia O’Neal was again the dominant force, ending in nine kills and four blocks hitting .429. Molly Phillips also hit a high level in the match, finishing with eight kills, hitting .353.

Logan Eggleston led Longhorns by 13 kills and 11 wells during their fourth double doubling of the season. Skylar Fields ended in 11 kills, three blocks, and three excavations.

Brionne Butler led Texas by five blocks and got four kills. Nalani Josiah took 13 buttons and four assists in the match.

Jhenna Gabriel ended with 37 passes and added seven digs, two kills and one fight.

Melanie Parra was strong on the service line and finished with four aces.

Texas will return to action against Notre Dame on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Gregory Gym.
