The UTRGV Women’s Tennis will send a pair of Singles to the finals of the Contender CrossFit Islander Open

THE BODY OF CHRIST The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s tennis team sent two of their prestigious singles to the final on the second day of rival CrossFit Islander Open on Saturday at the HEB Tennis Center.

Second year studentLea Karrenwon 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 in Lamar’s Alba Perez draw C to reach the championship on Sunday. Karren meets Lucie Devier in North Texas.

SeniorAlicia Thalwon the draw H 6-4, 6-1 to beat Texas A&M Kingsville Manuela Turolo. On Sunday, Thal will face the Likhitha Kalavan of the Draw H Championship in North Texas.

Also singles, sophomoreIsabelle Bahrplaced third in draw A when she crashed into Corpus Christi Emma Aucagne. FreshmanMarjorie Souzawill play in third place in Lottery B on Sunday after falling to Liisa Vehvilaainen in North Texas.

JuniorKatarina Sasarogaplaced third in the draw after falling to Maria Ponomareva in North Texas. JuniorAna Platisaplays S Houston Sahithi Vutukuru on Sunday and takes fifth place in raffle F in second yearValeria Monteroplays in fifth place in the draw G after defeating Lamarin Jayci Wong 6-1. 6-2.

The game ends on Sunday at 9 a.m. at the HEB Tennis Center.
