Winona State Rally spoils home opener for Dragon Football, 27-13 | Mighty 790 KFGO

ABERDEEN, SD The Moorhead national football team at Minnesota State University led the 13-0 lead early in the third quarter, but Winona State scored the last 27 points to beat the Dragons 27-13 on Saturday at Schools Field at Nemzek Stadium.

MSUM fell 1-1 in a year as Winona State improved 2-0.

The Dragons were only 2/5 of the red area scoring opportunities. Winona State scored 14 points on two MSUM sales.

After all, it was disappointing, MSUM head coachSteve Laquasaid. We had opportunities we didn’t take advantage of. We need to clean up non-compelling mistakes.

The lead grew to 13-0 when Falk hit Marquart by 8 yards 3:25 in the second half and led 13-0.

Winona State would make the final 27 points in the last 23 minutes to gain the lead and earn a win.

MSUM will be in Augustana on September 18th.
