Pawsitively Milwaukee Pets of the Week: Cricket and Sally

[ad_1]

WAUKESHA The Waukesha County Humane Animal Welfare Association helps with the effects of the hurricane season!

HAWS welcomed the Wings of Rescue flight, which was full of pets that had moved due to the devastation of Hurricane Ida, mainly to Mississippi and Louisiana.

When the hurricane struck, the southern shelters had to clear space in order to act as emergency shelters. HAWS will take those pets that have already been adopted and place them for adoption in our area. According to staff, the program works well because it allows shelters in hurricane-damaged areas to provide shelter and appointments for pets who may have disappeared from their families. Happy ending in all respects!
When you take one Wings of Rescue pet or any other pet in a HAWS shelter, you save two lives. First you save the life of your new pet and secondly the life of another animal who now has room to go to the HAWS shelter.

The shelter staff introduced us to two lives you could save 7-month-old Cricket and 3-month-old Sally. Both are fun, energetic babies who are ready to go home with you very soon.

If you would like to take one of the hurricane-affected pets, they must be inspected first. This means vaccines, sterilization or castration and a microchip.

HAWS has so many pets to adopt. If you are interested, call 262-542-8851 or visit HAWSpets.org.
