Sprecher named BIG EAST Honor Roll

Marquette Village spokesman has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll list, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

The sprecherled defense, which earned opposing downtime gains last week, surpassing its opponents by 15-4; added an entry point to Sunday’s victory over St. Thomas (Minn.)

BIG EAST offensive player of the week
Julia Aronov, Seton Hall, Jr., M

In the Pirates ’2-0-0 week, Aronov was BIG EAST’s top scorer, scoring seven points and three assists. The younger midfielder scored the winning goal against both Iona and Lehigh last week. After winning the Gaels 6-3 on Thursday, Aronov released the GWG at 50^th minutes, while he scored two points and an entry point. In a 1-0 decision against Mountain Hawks on Sunday, he scored the only goal of the game in the third minute.

BIG EAST Defensive player of the week
Amanda Kowalski, Butler, R-Sr., D

Kowalski-led Butler’s defense limited his opponent to just two shots on goal last week as the Bulldogs surpassed Wright State and Ball State by a 42-3 margin, including a 22-2 goal. Butler also took a 15-5 advantage in corner kicks. Kowalski added an entry point in Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Cardinals and defeated Abigail Isger’s seventh-minute winner.

Goalkeeper of the week BIG EAST
Allie Augur, Georgetown, Jr., GK

Augur earned breaks against two placed enemies last week. Junior had two stops against mountaineers in a double overtime goal-free draw before denying eight shots in a Scarlet Knights victory 1-0. Georgetown’s victory over ninth-place Rutgers is the highest team BIG EAST wins after Hoyas surpassed then. 2 WVU back on September 18, 2016.

BIG EAST Freshman of the week
Chloe Netzel, Xavier, Fr., F.

Netzel helped keep the Musketeers undefeated (7-0-0) in a year with a couple of clutch shows in their wins last week. The rookie assisted Emma Marcus on the 23rd^rd-minute game winner Ball State against Thursday before he scored the opening goal 2-1 on Sunday by beating Loyola-Chicago. Netzel also released five matches against the Cardinals.
