All day ASI starts campus fun Life style

ASI hosted the annual All Day ASI on 9 September in person for the first time in a year, and the Becker Amphitheater was once again full of music and excitement.

Students browsed booths, took selfies in the background of the photo home, and logged in with Associated Students to enter the evening’s concert.

The event was divided into three time blocks. Like many events that occurred during the pandemic, in recent years, All Day ASI adapted to the virtual environment and hosted the event through YouTube Live.

The pre-pandemic mood during the first block of this year resonated with a morning performance curated by ASI in collaboration with Titan Radio radio-media coordinator Matthew Sylvester.

We made really good friends with ASI’s production team; they love working with us and we love working with them, Sylvester said. This was one of their biggest events, and they wanted us to be a part of it.

At noon, Lenny Martinez, ASI staff and construction supervisor, covered the tables and distributed Amazon Prime Student bags to participants. The Titan Bowl and Billiards The basement of the Titan Student Union would be full of students playing foosball, table tennis, bowling and billiards during the second block of the event.

We have everything fully available and free at 1:30 p.m., so students can just come have fun, Martinez said.

If free food and events were not enough, ASI will also coordinate donations during each block. But in order to receive gift items, students were encouraged to follow @asicsufia on Instagram and tag two friends for the latest All Day ASI post.

Jacob Fry, ASI’s programming coordinator and event producer, said the All Day ASI was designed to welcome students back to campus and showcase ASI’s offerings. Fry mentioned that the lottery ranged from small to large destinations.

There’s an annual ticket to Disneyland. Some small items are like a limited edition Pokemon cards, Fry said. Not to mention that we have a free Macbook Pro that we donate and all the fun.

Third and the last block of All Day ASI was held at Tuffy Lawn with the Concert and Resource Fair. In addition to local food vendors, various campus organizations are spreading, such as Titan Outdoors and Titan Recreation. Students were given free coupons to redeem for two food cars at one of the events.

Various events were to be held in the evening, starting with student dancers at 6 p.m. Initially, there was the Ballet Folklorico, a cultural student dance club on campus. They were followed by Seoul Ful, a student dancer known as Rel, and unlimited. They all blew the audience with delightful movements that also made the hearts of the viewers seek more.

After the dancers were student DJs Ginsing and JP, real names were Tseyang Lau and Josh Paktan. The DJs took the stage at 7pm and had half an hour of ownership of their mixes, followed by flashing lights and heavy bass.

The main event of the evening was a performance by the band Public, which took the stage at 10 pm, shortly after the opening: DJ Lez Lee. The band’s performance included some of their best and latest releases, including ILoveU, Splash and even a cover of Britney Spears Toxic, which drove the audience wild.

The energy was high among the participants throughout the day, starting with the radio program and ending with the bang of the main event. There is a time when the CSUF event went so hard because COVID-19 forced the events to be virtual. The power of the bass, the warmth of the summer night, and the physical fun with friends made the students excited about this semester.

For those who have never participated in the full-day ASI program before, and for those who are happy to participate in it again, this year was not disappointing.
