ACC Field Hockey will open the conference game on Friday, with all seven teams still among the top 20 in the NFHCA survey.
On Fridays, the three-game playing field is No. 11 Virginia No. 5 Louisville, No. 15 Wake Forest No. 17 Duke and No. 14 Syracuse No. 3 at Boston College.
The Wake Forest-Duke game (4 pm, RSN) and the Syracuse-Boston College match (17:00, ACCN) are both designed for linear transmission.
The entire out-of-conference schedule is open on Sunday when all seven ACC teams are in action.
At Boston College, 6-0 starters for the best in program history. The Eagles also opened the 2009 campaign with six consecutive wins.
Louisville is 4-0 at home and has won their last 11 home games after going 7-0 at Trager Stadium in the 2020-21 campaign. This is the third season in a row that the Cardinals have started 6-0.
No. 6 North Carolina will play their first home game of the season by hosting Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. Tar Heels played the first six matches of the 2021 season away.
Virginia have not scored a goal during September and will take part in Friday’s Louisville match at the rate of three consecutive stops.
The Cavaliers also made an offensive number of notes on September 5 with 53 shots (29 goals) when they defeated Towson. The NCAA does not keep a record of shots taken in the game, but it marked the most shots for Virginia since at least 2008.
Louisville head coach Justine Sowry hit his career 200 wins mark last weekend, and Duken Pam Bustin is five shy to reach 300. ACC’s current head coaches have won 2,472 wins in 178 seasons.
ACC’s weekly hockey player selections on Sept. 14 featured a pair of student-athletes who were honored for the first time in their careers by Syracuse striker Quirine Comans and Duke goalkeeper Piper Hampsch.
For the 15th consecutive year, the ACC was a pioneer among the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences on the Best Colleges list.US News & World Report.The ACC schools average 55, which leads all FBS conferences and is five percentage points ahead of the next peer conference.
