# 12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be shown on NBC’s Saturday afternoon as they host Purdue Boiler Makers in South Bend, Indiana, inside Notre Dame Stadium. The start starts at 2.30pm ET.

This weekend, Notre Dame (2-0) will face state rival Purdue (2-0) 85^th time. The last two teams met in 2014 and the Irish won 30-14. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 56-26-2. There were also a lot of lost tackles that Notre Dame’s defense needs to improve this week, or it could be a long day. Linebacker, JD Bertrand presented his own performance with a total of 11 fights (10 alone), one sack and three losses. Such production is needed again this week.

Purdue

Purdue led Uconn 35-0 at halftime last week after scoring with their first five assists. Unfortunately for the Boilermakers, first-quarter leading striker Zander Horvath left the game with a broken fibula. He was replaced by running balls, King Doerue and Dylan Downing, who together made a 146-yard rush and one-touch. They are in a familiar position as the Hokies take their # 15 standings to Milan Puskar Stadium as an underdog. Virginia also showed their part in the game against Illinois, which defeated them conveniently, 42-14. The Cavaliers have surrendered just 14 points in two games this season. There is something to give this week. UNC opened the 8.5-point favorite before the line slipped to nine. The total increased by a couple of points to 66.5. Virginia is 4-1 SU in their last five matches against Tar Heels. At home, North Carolina’s matches against Virginia have gone from under 11 of the last 16.
