Arranging the table after the OSU win is expected

Winning the state of Ohio is not something many teams can say they have done in the last 8-10 years. The Buckeyes have been Satan’s unbeaten regular season, especially at home, but Oregon football was able to go to Columbus and steal the victory from the country’s No. 3 team.

A year ago, almost everyone marked this as a loss for Oregon and I was one of those people. I expected the Ducks to keep it close, but I really didn’t see them go down the road to receiving a College Football Playoff favorite like Ohio State.

I like to eat all the crows.

With a 2-0 record and the toughest game on schedule now out of the way, there are only 10 matches between Oregon and the unbeaten regular season.

From now on, expectations should be an invincible regular season, and we’ll look at every game and why the Ducks should throw.

Breaking the remaining Oregon football schedule

The first game on the schedule is Stony Brook. The Ducks should beat this easily as it is an FCS opponent and is designed to be a nice confidence booster before playing Pac-12.

After an easy victory for Stony Brook, Oregon hosts Arizona, and it’s good to argue that the Wildcats are the worst team in Pac-12. This should be the anchor walkway, as long as they don’t look ahead.

The hardest game since Ohio State is Stanford on Oct. 2 in Palo Alto, California, and I think their victory over USC was a little tricky, especially as the Cardinal handled the average Kansas State team at the season opener. The cardinal has just too many question marks.

Oregon will return home to face Cal, who will take revenge, and Cal seems to have taken a step back this season. This happens before the big road game at UCLA on October 23, which is probably the hardest game left on schedule. There’s also a good chance that this is a battle between the top ten unbeaten teams. Oregon has shown that it can play with anyone, and it has to make the Bruins one-dimensional, but I think the Ducks are a lot more talented. I think Chip Kelly and the Bruins are still a year away from really arguing.

Colorado is waiting for the end of October, and I really believe this is going to be an explosion for the Ducks because of the offensive question marks on the buffaloes. Karl Dorrell does not yet have competitor-type talent.

The road to Washington is next and if we’ve learned anything from the first two weeks, the Huskies aren’t as good as we expected. The attack is really, really bad and the defense can explode on the ground (good news for CJ Verdell).

Utah will share the home games of Washington and Oregon to end the season, and Salt Lake City will be a difficult place to play, but BYU offered a perfect plan to beat Utes. Maybe Charlie Brewer isn’t quite as good as we expected. Washington State and Oregon State (Revenge) games should be easy wins, as both are Pac-12-based residents year-round.

The only games Oregon really needs to take care of are Stanford, UCLA, Washington and Utah, and I think the Ducks are comfortably better than each one.

Expectations should win at this point.
