Men’s tennis defeated Daemen 6-3

ROCHESTER, NY Freshmen Grahith Movva (Hyderabad, India / Vishwabharathi Jr. College), Christian Berko (Silver Spring, MD / St. John College) and Max Chang (Leesburg, Virginia / Bishop O’Connell) joined junior Tomas Ree as victories in individual games, leading to the victory of the RIT men’s tennis team with a 6-3 guest from Daemen at RIT Field House on Wednesday afternoon.

Movva beat Luis Devuyst 6-1 in the second singles, while Berko reached Phillip Vance 6-2, 7-6 in the third singles. Chang beat Sam Greco 7-6, 6-1 in the fifth single and Reese beat Jayven Williamson in the sixth single 6-1, 6-0.

In a duel, senior Jake Wolicki (Canton, MA / Canton) and a graduate student Jacob Meyerson (Cranston, RI / Cranston West) were 8-1 winners from Devuyst and Zachary Laplante in the second doubles, while the parents Carter Casimer (Lewisburg, PA / Lewisburg area)and the second year Ethan Martin (Pearland, TX / Glenda Dawson) took an 8-3 win in the third doubles against Vance and Ross Belen.

RIT will return to the ITA Regional Championships in Hobart on Friday, October 1 – Sunday, October 3.
