Frank, Pickett represents Mizzou on the SEC Basketball Leadership Council

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. Mizzou men’s and women’s basketball student athletes Javon Pickett and Hayley Frank will represent Mizzoua annually on the board of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Federation at the Southeast Conference on Thursday and will hold the meeting in a virtual format.

The Council is composed of one male representative and one female representative from the SEC’s 14 institutions. The goal of the Board is for student athletes to serve as a channel of communication from their teams to the conference on issues related to the student-athlete experience, student-athlete well-being, and to provide feedback on the proposed SEC and NCAA rules.

The Men’s Basketball Executive and the Women’s Basketball Executive consist of two parts of the SEC Student-Athlete Executive Council. The third part is the board of the Football Association, which meets every January.

Pickett will start the 2021-22 season as the lone parent of the men’s basketball team and will embark on a solid junior campaign. Pickett was Mizzou’s sixth man to appear in all 26 matches, where he averaged 6.2 points and 2.3 rebounds. He has acted consistently in tigers, done seven times in double digits and collected at least three rebounds 12 times.

Frank performed and started all 20 games last season in the Tigers, averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Strafford, Mo., a native who shot basketball at an incredibly high level, shooting 53.3 percent of the field, 45.1 percent of three, and 87.0 percent of free throws.
