Women’s Tennis opens the Falls season this week with women’s tennis-style Georgia Tech jackets

LEVELS Georgia Tech’s women’s tennis fall season kicks off over the weekend 34thAnnual Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic. A three-day tournament that runs from 17-19. September, will be held at the Mickel Tennis Center on the Furman University campus.

The tournament will feature 13 teams in a flight competition (no team winner, only individual flight and doubles champions).

Georgia Tech in the fall will feature Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and host Furman. The tournament starts on Friday at 8.30 am when the first single player round follows doubles (six games). The action continues on Saturday with one round of four games, followed by one single round, and hosts the last single game on Sunday.

Eight yellow jackets compete in singles and Tech has four double teams.

Yellow jackets are represented by returnees Monika Dedaj (Pula, Croatia), Rosie Garcia Gross (New York, NY), Ava Hrastar (Duluth, Ga.), Mahak Jain (Mumbai, India), Carol Lee (Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands) Islands), Ruth Marsh (Atlanta, Ga.) And Sophia Sassoli (Gladwyne, PA). For the first time this weekend, whites and golds will receive newcomers Kylie Bilchev (Ipswich, England) and Kate Sharabura (Atlanta, USA).
