Ange Postecoglo’s Celtic juggling during a chaotic run

When Ange Postecoglou coached in Australia, his teams rarely played more than one game a week.

The former Socceroos boss, now leading the Scottish giants Celtic, is in the midst of a busy time where Hoops will play five games in three different races in just 15 days.

The Postecoglo team returned to Ross County with a spectacular 3-0 win over Ross County before he failed to take advantage of a two-goal lead against Real Betis in a mid-week narrow European League loss.

On Monday morning (AEST), Celtic will have to return quickly in the Scottish Premier League against Livingston before hosting Raith Rovers in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals on Friday and then round off after a chaotic week against Dundee United.

Hoops didn’t have several key players during the week, and Postecoglou hopes the return of some will make it easier to manage for the next seven days.

“It’s a busy season and we have to play league and cup games,” Postecoglou said on Saturday.

“Like I said, hopefully we’ll get some players back, which will allow us to rest a few players because it’s important that we have a stronger set of players.

“Livingston hasn’t won this season, but it has probably given them the courage to get their first win, and we need to make sure we’re ready for it.

“It’s a good challenge for us. It’s always a hard place to play, but from our point of view, hopefully well we get our bodies back and we get fresh feet, and once again, we have a good chance of continuing our path of wanting to play our football.

“Every game is a threat, every game is a challenge, and we’ve tried to approach every game the same way, regardless of the opponent or their circumstances.”

Celtic have won three of their last four matches in the league and will remain fifth and are three points away from current co-leaders Hibernian and Rangers.
