Nearly two dozen unused players stood on the sidelines of the LSU for the second consecutive week, but the Tigers also showed signs of improving health as a handful of players returned Saturday night against Central Michigan.
Second-year corner forward Dwight McGlothern and freshman wide receiver Malik Nabers dressed for the first time this season. Security Todd Harris Jr. was playable after the absence of one game, as did freshman wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr.
There were still at least 22 players in LSU who weren’t dressed, including security Jay Ward, defending head Ali Gaye, defender Sage Ryan, wide receiver Trey Palmer and four offensive lines.

Most absences are related to injuries. Emery, Fonua and Kirklin left their third game due to academic problems.
Without a lead, redshirt freshman Xavier Hill started another straight game in the left tackle. He was the only backup to rise to the starting line when right guard Chasen Hines and right Taklaus Austin Deculus returned as expected.
