Hokies travels to Tennessee for the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

BLACKSBURG Women’s No. 25 Virginia Tech Golf Team will participate in the 54-hole Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, hosted in Knoxville, Tennessee on Monday and Tuesday.

The Hokies, who make their second appearance at the event, will finish third at the Wolverine Invitational among 16 teams in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The technique was led by a couple of seniors in the top 20 performances Keerattriya Foocharoen and junior Becca DiNunzio.

The Mercedes-Benz Collegiate field has 17 teams, including host Lady Vols and ACC enemy Miami.

Tech will travel to the same lineup in Knoxville as at the season opener. In addition to Foocharoen and DiNunzio Emily Mahar, Ginnie Lee and Alyssa Montgomery comes to Maroon and Orange. Symone Henriques competes as an individual.

It’s a homecoming for Montgomery, who is from Knoxville and won the 2021 Tennessee Women’s Amin at the Holston Hills Country Club in her hometown.

Monday’s opening 36 holes will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun. Tuesday’s final round begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun.
