Gator Soccer and North Florida Tie 0-0 2OT

GAINESVILLE, Florida, Florida and North Florida played 0-0 in two overtime on Sunday night at Donald R.Dizney Stadium. This was the Gators ’second consecutive rematch as the team tied 0-0 2OT on Friday in Vanderbilt to open the Southeast Conference.

This was the last out-of-conference match for both teams in the 2021 regular season.

Sunday’s match:

This was the second consecutive match in Florida after a rainy afternoon. On Sunday night, the teams played in the rain and in the rain.

Gator second-year goalkeeper Alexa Goldberg made four fights for the third clean sheet of the season, including a stop from UNF Emma Voigt’s 73-point blank shotrd minute.

The Gators recorded eight shots and they had some opportunities that were missing to get the shot. Florida Kit Loferski, Kouri Rauha and Alivia Gonzalez everyone turned with one shot towards the goal.

“This was a really hard weekend for us because both games were 110 minutes. I think our bet was really good. I was proud of our team for not making excuses, raising the challenge and playing hard. Apparently we wanted We won the game, but overall the effort was good. We just lacked some sort of implementation, which happens when you’re a little tired.

“We didn’t get any goals over the weekend and we think that if we can build on it and take it forward, we should be able to score some goals and win some SEC games.” – Florida head coach Tony Amato

Florida will open the Southeast Conference home game on Thursday with Kentucky. The Wildcats opened the SEC game on Friday with a 3-0 loss to Texas A&M and played at Ballarmine University on Sunday night.
