Reigning state singles champions help West Eagles tennis team subjugate service

Alaska-dominated high school doubles champions garnered wins on Tuesday to take over the West Eagles Service High at the Cook Inlet Conference tennis meeting at Alaska Club East.

Charlie Rush defeated Ulysses Escobar’s challenge to win the 6-3, 7-5 boys doubles, and Athena Clendaniel stopped Azra Pedalino 6-0, 6-4 in the girls doubles.

Their victory helped the West win 6-3, for the Eagles in the second week of the week-Monday they beat the Eagle River 6-3.

The rest of Tuesday, South defeated Bartlett 8-1.
