Carter Zezulka’s pair of touchdowns helped Esko prune off road traffic in Pine City on Friday in Northeast White.

Eskomos (4-0, 3-0 Northeast White) led 8-0 after Makoi Perich’s 3-yard cross-country run, but the extension of the lead was countered by stopping the first and goal with 1, followed by a second quarter. However, the Dragons turned the ball a couple of games later, and Ty Christensen had time to find Zezulka in the 20-yard touch just before the break.

Zezulka increased the second score from 37 yards in the middle of the third quarter, and the grounding of Nolan Witt and Joey Antonut broke the game.

Esko, who took the dragons to 66 busy yards, will host Two Harbors next Friday.

Two Harbors spread the ball around and got five touches from four runners in a confident Northeast White victory over Moran on Friday.

Jake Marxhausen was the only one with two points, including the shortest (out of 1 yard) and the longest (53). Between Alec Churness, Deacon Bark and Kyler Pikanen found the end zone when Agates reached a record of 3-1 (1-1 Northeast White).

Mesabi East’s defense took a loose attack on Friday as Jack Ribich’s 5-yard goal attack in the second quarter proved to be the only points of the game in Aurora.

Ribich ran 111 yards with 16 carriages. The Giants are set to win unbeaten next Friday night against Moose Lake-Willow River.

In the second half of Silver Bay, the return trip had an exciting start, but a quick short circuit on Friday in a 9-man north / south loss.

When the Mariners were 14-0 at halftime, Silver Bay’s Jake Stadler returned the second half starting point to 70 yards into contact. Jacob Carpenter made the turn and made it a seven-point game, but not long after Taylor Wagner returned the ensuing kick-off 90 yards to the house for visitors.

Carter Ammerman scored three goals with the Hornets (3-1, 3-0). Carpenter comforted the late Mariners (1-2, 1-1), who are in Carlton-Wrenshall next Friday.

Rock Ridge’s night of explosive plays by Gavin Dahl wasn’t enough to beat North Branch’s Ashton LaBelle on Friday at Eveleth.

LaBelle made 3, 1 and 8 yards for the Vikings, who never lagged behind.

Dahl scored a goal from Griffin Dosan’s 58-yard catch in the second quarter and then restored a 73-yard starting point to contact in the fourth set.

Dosan added a touch run to the Wolverines (2-2, 1-1 Northeast Red), who are in Duluth East next Friday. North Branch hosts Grand Rapids.
