Julia Gregory had a couple of goals that helped lead 13th-ranked Vernon to the 16th-ranked Delaware Valley 4-0 on Saturday in the first round of the Hunterdon / Warren / Sussex tournament in Vernon.
Vernon (5-2) head to Hackettstown for fourth place on Oct. 2 in the second round. The regular season match at Sparta is next Tuesday.
Natalie Hasert and Sidney Van Tassel each added a goal to Vernon, who led 1-0 at halftime and opened their lead after the break.
The Delaware Valley (0-7) leaves for Bernards on Tuesday.
