Pakistan’s great Inzamam-ul-haq rushed to the hospital

Pakistani cricket great Inzamam-ul-haq is in a stable state in a hospital after he reportedly had a cardiac arrest earlier in the week.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, the former test captain had complained of chest pain for three days before the scans revealed he had finally suffered a cardiac arrest, at which point he was quickly sent to hospital.

The 51-year-old is recovering from Lahore after successful angioplastic surgery.

When he retired from international play in 2007, Inzamam has served in a variety of roles in Pakistani cricket, including Time as Chief Selector and Batting Consultant.

He also coached the Afghan national team.

Inzamam is widely regarded as Pakistan’s biggest batsman, leading the country in ODI runs and third in test runs.

He played 375 ODIs and 119 tests that memorably reported to the world as Pakistan claimed the 1992 World Cup.

Cricket fans took to social media to wish the Pakistani legend a recovery.

Moeen Ali pulls positions for a test career

Meanwhile, English allrounder Moeen Ali has called time for a test career.

Moeen revealed that he had difficulty concentrating when he was called back to the English side in a recent series against India.

He took 195 test throws, including five five-throw throws, and made five test match centuries during his career.

He said: “I am now 34 years old and I want to play for as long as I can and I just want to enjoy my cricket.

“Test cricket is amazing when you have a good day, it’s better than any other form by far, it’s more rewarding and you feel like you really deserved it.

“I just miss walking there with the boys, playing against the best in the world with this feeling of nervousness, but also from the point of view of bowling, knowing with my best ball that I could get anyone out.

“I’ve enjoyed test cricket, but that intensity can sometimes be too much, and I feel like I’ve done it enough and I’m happy and happy with what I’ve done.”

Ali lost his key contract in 2019, which made him focus on franchise cricket.
