ORLANDO – At the end of the 2022 football season, the Knights move to Power Five. For years, UCF played really good football but didn’t deserve an offer for Power Five. Fans of other programs as well as members of various media took pictures of UCF’s football program. Here’s your chance to shut them down.
Before you reach the top of football, there are some areas that need to be improved, as well as opportunities to take advantage of in an effort to sprint into the league instead of walking, which silences critics.
This list could go as far as anyone could imagine because it is a bit subjective. In this sense, two categories are listed below. Before the knights head to Big XII to play Power Five football, the knights maximize the opportunity to respect the audience.
Take advantage of Gus Malzahn’s inauguration at UCF
Few in the ranks of college football coach make anyone feel as comfortable as UCF head coach Gus Malzahn does. In short, if no one can be comfortable around this man when he walks to the podium for a press conference or simply bumps into him in the hallway, it’s about that person, not Coach Malzahn. He’s awesome to be close.

In this sense, he has produced a lot of positive energy for UCF Football, which in turn helps to promote athletics. Members of the media enjoy his intimacy and the articles published are generally favorable. It said there is an opportunity to increase this positive impact.
Media members are happy to write about UCF and Coach Malzahn, assuming the Knights win. To make this even better, the Knights need to find a way to win at least 10 regular season matches in 2021.
Imagine the level of media attention that UCF will get if it does this year under the leadership of New Year’s Bowl game coach Malzahn. This starts by winning at least 10 of the 12 matches on the regular season schedule. Most likely, the knights would need 11 wins. Hard to say, but 10 wins would be the minimum requirement.
Of course, winning the New Year’s bowl game would be a cherry on top of the cake. It will no doubt come up against a Power Five opponent. Winning such games will allow UCF to see in a more positive light, but perhaps more importantly, provide an opportunity to exchange fans and media members who did not believe in UCF to see Knights differently now. At least one can hope.
Crash the Party
As stated above, knights could come shouting into the Great XII by winning. Another way to win would be to capture the American Athletic Conference Championship.
If not, fans from other institutions could suggest that UCF doesn’t even beat AAC, so why can they be good enough for Power Five?
Remember, this is an outside observation, not what UCF fans and alumni believe. There is a big difference between the two groups.
Whether the year is 2021 or 2022, the knights must win the league directly. Not only is it a great football season, but it silences critics that UCF can’t compete in top college football. Winning the league in both years would, of course, be even better. To that end, one team is on the way.
Winning Cincinnati is needed to achieve that goal. There is no doubt that the Bearcats are number one in the AAC today. Undo the top team, earn your league title, and then head to the Big XII.
Final thoughts
There is a lot of joy in UCF Football before you head to the Big XII conference. Cement, which will transition to Power Five mode by winning the big ones this and next season, will make the transition much easier.
In the process, it will create a much greater fog from UCF Football and will also help silence some annoying fans from other schools and media members.
