- The agreement is valid until 30th September 2024
- The New Balance Agreement was originally scheduled to run until 2023
- Castore already has cricket series with the national teams of England and the West Indies
Cricket South Africa (CSA), a national governing body, has appointed the British sportswear company Castore as its new package supplier.
The three-year agreement gives Castore the exclusive right to be the official clothing partner for the CSA team package and products, including its teams, staff and players. The brand has also been named CSA’s official trading partner.
The agreement officially begins 1st October 2021 and lasts until 30th September 2024.
Castore will replace New Balance, which has worked with CSA since 2015. The U.S.-based company’s most recent contract with the organization was scheduled to run until 2023, but it was decided to terminate the contract two years earlier.
Craig Bowen, South African country manager for New Balance, said the decision was made in light of current business and strategic requirements.
Castorelle’s CSA connection is the first step to South Africa and the latest step in the cricket market. Earlier this month, the brand signed a multi-year deal to become the official supplier for England’s cricketers and women’s national teams. According to The Times, the contract, which will officially begin in April 2022, will be worth £ 25 million ($ 33.7 million) over ten years.
Castora also has a putty shop with the West Indies national side in addition to being training clothes and an athletic lifestyle partner for English wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler.
Castore is one of the world’s largest players in sportswear, and they are involved around the world with a variety of sports codes, including Formula 1, cycling, football, athletics and swimming, says CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki.
Castore is perfect for our national teams, all of whom have major ICC events on the immediate horizon. We look forward to a fruitful and happy relationship over the next three years.
Tom Beahon, founder of Castore, added: Adding a wide range of teams and athletes with a team like Cricket South Africas Proteas is a huge honor for us as a brand and we were excited to see where the partnership takes us. The T20 World Cup is the perfect way to launch our partnership. It’s an exciting, forward-thinking concept that’s still in its infancy and where entertainment is always present.
We hope that our innovative series models can enhance the World Cup experience for both players and spectators. Because the brand was deeply committed to low profits and outstanding performance, work continuously with the team throughout the partnership to produce garments that are unparalleled in the cricket landscape, and we make sure one of the world’s most decorated cricket teams is dressed to fit it.
