White Sox, Sky, Blackhawks: This is what you need to see

HOUSTON Bad news for the White Sox? Only 12% of the major league teams that fell in the 0–2 holes have won the top five series.

Good news? So far, there is no good news.

But manager Tony La Rusa had something on his mind for Astros after a 9-4 loss on Friday, and this was a comment he heard from Red Sox Manager Terry Francona in 2004. Franconas ’team had just missed out on the Yankees in three games, nothing seems like a hopeless scenario for a franchise that faced his torturer and had not won the World Series in 88 years.

I think we have to try to keep it simple, Francona said then. We will show tomorrow and our only goal, our only goal is to win tomorrow. And then from there.

La Russa was in Houston with the Cardinals. There, they would lose to the Red Sox team, who never gave up.

The White Sox needs a three-game rally to get past Astros this week.

When he said it, it’s a good thing to say, La Russa said. It is reasonable. They went and won four. So we have to win. [Game 3] is bound to win.

They are all necessary against Sox against here. And here’s what happens:

Falcons vs. Jets (8:30 a.m., NFL)

England gave us the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The least we can do is give our friends 1–3 barking and 1–3 water jets across the pond. They rock and roll at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Packers in Bengals (noon, Fox-32)

A couple of 3-1 division leaders go into it, but does Bengals really have a shot? Their resume, which includes skin teeth from home, winning vikings and jaguars and defeat for bears is not much to look at.

Sky at Mercury, Game 1 (2:30 p.m., Part 7)

So who is underrated in the finals? Sixth-placed Sky has never won a title. Fifth-placed Mercury last won everything in 2014 and won heaven, and they come into this series. However, it doesn’t make Brittney Griner and Diana Tauras any more scary.

Bears at the Raiders (3 p.m., Part 2)

Have you heard the news that Justin Fields is now Bears QB1 really? Job 1: doesn’t let his team lose 20 points for the third time in a row on the road.

Astros at the White Sox, Game 3 (7 p.m., FS1)

What a nightmare that Houston trip was. Almost ironic, isn’t it that the Sox is doing everything they can just to get back there?

Invoices with Managers (7:20 p.m., Chapter 5)

Wait at least properly on the Sox Trail five times before moving on to last season’s AFC Championship rematch.

Astros at the White Sox, Game 4, if required (2:30 p.m., FS1)

It’s never ideal to be in the area when needed, but hope and excitement are pinball throughout the guaranteed price range if the Sox is still alive.

Giants at the Dodgers, Game 3 (8:30 pm, TBS)

An up-and-coming named Kris Bryant took home the Giants Game 1 win, which was kind of cool. With 106 victories, arresting the Dodgers from the division championship and dropping it in the playoffs would be a great thing of all time.

Penguins at Lightning (6:30 p.m., ESPN)

Its a banner time at Amalie Arena, a great way to drop a puck for the NHL season. Hockey, people on their backs.

Kraken at the Golden Knights (9pm, ESPN)

Let go, this joke has been done a million times already. Its a Game 1 for Seattles game series, and it’s all sorts of special.

Blackhawks Avalanchella (9pm, TNT)

Here’s the season opener. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre Fleury has seen it all, but has he really had to debut with the Hawks against the team that led the league in scoring last season?

Grizzlies at the Bulls (7 p.m., NBCSCH +)

It’s just a pre-season final, but we can’t complain if the Bulls blow another opponent from the gym.

Mercury Sky, Game 3 (8pm, ESPN2)

A number of bulls may be present at Wintrust Arena. Also Chance The Rapper. What about the Chicago media?

Rutgers at Northwestern (noon, TBD)

The Wildcats 2-3 have put together a disappointment before Pat Fitzgerald led. Greg Schianos Scarlet Knights are not the only ones who can chop wood.

Blackhawks at the Penguins (6pm, NHL, NBCSCH)

Fleury spent 13 seasons in Pittsburgh and even won his third Stanley Cup there in 2017. Then the pens let him go. Motivation meter: still tilted.
