Gamecocks drops to Vanderbilt / Alabama on the second day of the SEC Match Play

SHOAL CREEK, Ala. South Carolina gave up both of their matches on Monday at the opening of the SEC Match Play. Gamecocks lost to Vanderbilt in the 5-0 championship quarterfinals late this morning. Carolina then went down to a 4-1 Alabama pool early tonight.

In a match that started yesterday but was suspended due to darkness, the Commodores scored three points and ended in a freshman Gene Zeiglerin match (1 down 14) and older Ryan Hallin (2-down 14) trip early.

Junior Jack Wall was a lone victory in the team pool battle against Crimson Tide. He beat Jones free 4 and 3.

Carolina plays Texas A&M this morning. The first group starts at 9.10 (ET).
