MUNCIE, Ind. The Ball State ski team is scheduled to get on course on Friday as it travels to Peoria Ill. Bradley Pink Classic.

The race, which is divided into several races, is designed for a 6k run. The cardinals are scheduled to take part in both races, starting with the white race at 2.30pm ET and ending with the red call at 4pm ET.

The 6k run is the longest of the year for Ball State, including the team’s newest members, in preparation for the Mid-American Conference Championship at the end of the month.

“I’m really excited about my first 6k race” Jenna Schifferer said. “I’ve always enjoyed running longer distances, so I’m excited to try a race that’s longer than I’ve done before. I’m also excited when I return to Peoria because I’m from Illinois. I’ve competed there several times in high school.”

“This is my first 6k race, so it’s a change for me, but I’m excited to see how I can do and compete, especially before the MAC Championship,” Sarah Mahnensmith added.

While Friday is a new challenge for the Cardinals, the team has been preparing for the past couple of weeks.

“We’ve practiced a lot for this race, so we’re well prepared.” Carly Spletzer said. “I’m excited to see how it goes and gain experience running 6k before taking part in the MAC Championship.”
