Report: Mikal Bridges and Phoenix Suns agree on a four-year $ 90 million extension

Bridges ’defense and three-point shooting made him an integral part of Phoenix’s return to the Western Conference.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski says the franchise has entered into an agreement with versatile swingman Mikal Bridges for a four-year, $ 90 million extension period beginning in 2022-23. Bridges, who was the tenth overall choice in the 2018 draft, would have gotten into a limited vacant office next summer if he hadn’t agreed to a continuation by October 18th.

The 25-year-old Bridges has emerged as one of the league’s best young perimeter defenders in developing a reliable outside shot. The 6-foot-6 striker averaged 1.1 times, 0.9 blocks and fired 42.5% of the 3-point range last season. He scored 27 points in the second match of the final, the Suns ’last win before dropping 4-2 for the Bucks.

Phoenix’s attention is now even better shifted to Deandre Ayton, who is the same choice in the 2018 draft where Bridges was elected. Ayton and Suns have not yet reached an agreement, and on Monday the deadline is approaching before he moves to a limited vacant office next interim.

After the up and down regular season, Ayton flourished during the Phoenix post-season as an elite finisher and rebound (15.8 ppg, 11.8 rpg, 65.8 FG%) while offering enough defensive versatility to solve almost any match they faced in the final.
