A quick and clean 3-1 win against Guild in the final season of the EMEA VCT has secured a place for Team Liquid SET OF VALUES year-end world championships in Berlin, Germany in December.
Liquid, who had previously missed the tournament due to a lack of lap points, will join Gambit, who won after Masters Berlin’s win in September, and Acend and Fnatic, who finished second and third in the lap point situation.
Although the G2 has earned 325 lap points during the year, it has remained the champion. A strong performance at Masters Berlin was not enough for the star team.
The Guild, which was ranked ninth, almost did a miracle in last season’s qualifiers and won their place in the Championship by beating SuperMassive Blaze, Oxygen Esports, Footballer and G2, but the team didn’t do enough to win the revived liquid in the final.
Signing and adding ScreaM brother Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom to the starting list, Liquid has looked better than ever. The disappointment at the EMEA Stage Three: Challengers Playoffs in August was clearly a revival for the team.
The VCT Champions will start on December 1, when a total of 16 teams will compete for the championship VALORANTIT first world champion.
