Five things before the Tech football game against Syracuse

The Virginia Tech national football team will end their four-match home game in an ACC match against Syracuse on Saturday, October 23rd. The start starts at 12.30 ET.

Below are five things you need to know before this Saturday’s match between the Hokies and the Orange:

1. Syracuse will perform at Lane Stadium for the first time since 2003. Hokies will host Orange for the first time with two programs joining ACC. Syracuse last visited Blacksburg on October 11, 2003, a game Virginia Tech won 51-7. Tech has a 6-2 advantage over Syracuse at Lane Stadium.

2. Charge your mobile tickets BEFORE you arrive at Lane Stadium. To ensure the smoothest access to Lane Stadium, pre-load your mobile tickets. Using HokieSports on a mobile device and viewing tickets is not the same thing as downloading tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Payh. HokieSports requires the Internet to access a ticket account, but once tickets have been downloaded from the app to Apple Wallet or Google Pay, they are on this device. 3. Lane Stadium concessions have gone in cash. As previously reported, all licenses have switched to cash payment this year and require the purchase of a purchase or credit card. Fans who do not have access to the card should consider purchasing a prepaid credit card from Kroger before the game. On game day, a limited number of prepaid credit cards are available at the Hokie Shop on the west side.

4. Don’t miss the overtime done before the game. After the national anthem, fans are urged to turn their attention to the southwest corner of Lane Stadium to help the crew of the HH-60W combat game helicopter. The crew is part of the 41st Rescue Squadron at Moody’s Air Force Base in Georgia and includes Major Adam Case of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (’10).

5. Tech’s 1986 Peach Bowl team is recognized at half time. This season marks the 35th anniversary of Hokies ’1986 team, which ended the year with 10 wins and 25-24 wins against NC State in the Peach Bowl. The former players will return to Lane Stadium this Saturday to remember the memorable season.
