Driving KTM rider Acosta came to the 16th round of the season with his first match point in 2021 when he led Foggia by 30 points, but will move to Portugal just 21 points now that Foggia came in 14th to win the race.

Poleman Niccolo Antonelli took the punch to the start of Riccardo Rossi and Austin winner Izan Guevara (Aspar GasGas) in the BOE Owlride KTM game.

Acosta had found himself back seventh in the fifth grid, while Foggia had dropped to 15th at the end of the opening round.

Foggia found himself caught between the nine leading groups in the initial 1.6 seconds, but once at the top of the second package, the Leopard rider quickly took the ones ahead.

In Round 10, Foggia was with the management team, and Acosta moved to the podium for the first time on the next tour.

When Antonelli was almost overwhelmed after exiting turn 6 on the left in the next round, Acosta managed to take the lead from the Avintia rider.

It was a short-lived Driving KTM driver at the top of the field when Guevara came in first corner at the start of the 13th lap — before Acosta dropped to fourth as he ran wide on Rio’s right.

As a result, Foggia had to stare at the back of his champion, who had reached fifth point in certain moves, and took third from Acosta to Curvone a moment later.

On lap 15, Foggia found himself driving for the first time, while Acosta – who was the only rider to drive a tougher rear tire in the race – began to slow down and dropped down to sixth.

He was promoted to the spot when Guevara crashed third in Quercia on lap 18, but Foggia, Masia and MotoGP-tied Darryn Binder had broken the second set from the rest of the package.

In the final laps, Foggia and Acosta’s teammate Masia had lost more than two seconds away from Binder, and the Driving KTM rider was able to take the decisive points away from Foggia in the championship.

Foggia held the lead when the pair started the 23rd and final lap. The Leopard rider covered the two most important overtaking spots in turns 1 and 4.

The Leopard rider then closed the transition to Quercia as he recorded his run out of turn 6 directly behind and kept his important difference to claim an important victory.

Acosta grabbed the final of the final round in the difficult Binder to limit the championship lead, but his beneficiary now has 21 points and 50 left in 2021.

Binder (Petronas Sprinat) dismissed the podium for 0.111 seconds, overshadowed by Nepa, while longtime leader Antonelli faded sixth.

Romano Fenati was seventh ahead of Tech3’s Ayumu Sasaki in his Max Racing KTM tournament. Xavi Artigas ’Leopard Honda and Prustel GP’s Filip Salac filled the top ten.
