The widow of a basketball superstar Kobe Bryant has testified that he learned of the death of her husband and daughter in a helicopter crash when she saw RIP Kobe ‘s announcements on her phone.

Bryant, his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven others were killed in January 2020 as the helicopter was on its way to a basketball tournament, it crashed in the hills west of Los Angeles in foggy weather.

Vanessa Bryant said she had asked Angels the county sheriff to ensure that no one took photographs of the crash site of the helicopter that killed the basketball star in 2020, and that he assured him that the area was secured, according to court documents.

Bryant is suing the Los Angeles County Lords Department for charges of invasion of privacy and mental anxiety he said caused to first aid personnel who took and shared pictures of people’s remains at the helicopter crash site.

Bryant said a family helper had first told him about the accident, but they said five people survived. She said she assumed her husband was among them and that they would help others.

I was holding my phone because apparently I was trying to call my husband back and all these notifications started showing up on my phone saying: RIP Kobe. RIP Kobe. RIP Kobe, Bryant said according to the landing script. My life will never be the same without my husband and daughter.

When Sheriff Alex Villanueva confirmed that her husband and daughter had been killed, she asked Bryant if she could do anything for her.

And I said, If you can’t bring my husband and baby back, make sure no one takes photos of them. Protect the area. And he said, I will. And I said, No, I need to get a call right now and I need to make sure you protect the area.

Villanueva, he said, apologized for a moment and assured him that the area was secured when he returned.

The lawsuit alleges that paramedics, including firefighters and sheriff’s deputies, shared photos of Kobe Bryants’ body with the bartender and provided free photos of the dead children, parents and coaches.

Federal safety officials blamed the pilot for the mistake in the helicopter crash.

Los Angeles County is working to force psychiatric assessments of Bryant and others to determine if they are actually suffering from emotional anxiety. Bryants ’attorneys argue in court that the investigations are cruel, while the county says they are a routine part of the discovery process.
