Amid the tension in the cricket world, senior congressional leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said Saturday that a match between India and Pakistan could strengthen relations between the two countries.
Speaking to ANI, Chowdhury said: “The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup match between countries can strengthen ties. It will bring peace. We are all excited about this match. I am sure India will do well and win the match.”
India and Pakistan will face each other on Sunday night at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and after a two-year hiatus, the two teams will face on the cricket field when they last played at the 50-year-old World Cup in 2019.
