Anthony Joshua has confirmed he is receiving a “new lesson” while trying out several coaches in America, but he has not resigned from longtime coach Rob McCracken.
The UK heavyweight star traveled to America to train at several gyms after losing their WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight championships at Usyk’s point loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.
Joshua says he’s ready to expand his training team, but hasn’t divorced McCracken, who guided him to two World Championship victories.
Asked if McCracken could stay with his coach, Joshua said IFLTV: “Yeah, and he needs to talk to people I might want to work with and see if he can work with them.
– I had the same conversation with Rob: ‘I want to work with you, but I also want to work with this man for six months’.
“Rob might tell me,‘ You know which champion, this doesn’t work for me. For the next six months, you’ll do your thing and you’ll see me after that. ”
“It’s a mature conversation. My life and health are in danger.”
Joshua has spent time with some of the most respected coaches in the United States as he plans to avenge his second professional loss in next year’s rematch with Usyk.
“I have to go get some new lessons from guys who have practiced – Robert Garcia trained 13, 14 world champions.

“Virgil Hunter trained Andre Ward, a phenomenal fighter. He has worked with Andre Berton.
“I wanted to get around and be around the fighters.

“I watched him take 12 batches and asked certain questions.
“Ronnie Shields, another African-American coach who has worked with the awesome.”
But the 32-year-old continues to set up his training camp in Britain, which precludes a permanent move to America.
“Listen, I don’t need anyone to make me,” Joshua said.
“I got myself into the championship. This is my 12th championship game. I just have to keep learning.”
