The tennis season for Washington High School girls ’teams is over after a 5-1 home loss to Research Triangle Charter High School on Tuesday in the second round of the two-team state tournament.
Junior Ana Roberson was Pam Pack’s only winner, 7-5, 2-6, 10-8. 12th ranked Washington finished 12-6, while 13thth the seeded Raptors advance and face top-ranked Clinton in the third round.
The WHS doubles team of junior Katherine Pollock and senior Olivia Paszt will play in a personal state tournament this weekend in Holly Springs, finishing second in the eastern region last weekend.
