International Tennis Hall of Fame Vote: Have Your Say!

Since 2018, the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) has involved fans in the selection process for the extreme honor of sport, giving them the opportunity to have their say on the candidates who have voted for the year.

This year’s list of nominees includes WTA stars Cara Black, Ana Ivanovic, Flavia Pennetta and Lisa Raymond, as well as ATP’s Carlos Moya and Juan Carlos Ferrero – and fans have until Sunday, Oct. 31 to vote for their favorite at. vote.tennisfame.com.

Ivanovic, Black, Pennetta and Moya are all new candidates, while Ferrero and Raymond are nominated for a second year. According to the rules of the Hall of Fame, a candidate may remain on the ballot for a maximum of three consecutive years.

“The six candidates nominated for the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s 2022 ballot have all achieved significant results in the biggest stages of tennis – Grand Slam, world leaderboard, Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup wins,” ITHF President Stan Smith said. “Their successes are highlights of tennis history, and it is a pleasure to be recognized for their achievements with the honor of being nominated for the International Tennis Hall of Fame.”

Todd Martin, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, added: “Tennis fans are demanding, knowledgeable and passionate. Their contribution to who becomes the Hall of Famer is an integral part of the International Tennis Hall of Fame orientation process.

The top three who received the fan vote will receive bonus percentage points for their official voting result. The official voting group is made up of expert tennis journalists, historians and the Hall of Famers, who will consider in the coming months. The candidate with the highest score in the fan vote will receive three percentage points plus their result from the official voting group, while the second and third will rank two and one additional percentage point.

A candidate elected to the Hall of Fame must receive at least 75% of the total amount of the result of his or her official voting group and the bonus percentage earned by the fan vote.

The 2022 membership class will be announced in early 2022, and the induction ceremony is scheduled for July 16, 2022.
