Yahoo DFS Hockey: Sunday Picks

Happy Halloween! The NHL will make sure you can spend the evening for yourself, as four of the five matches will be played in the afternoon. Yahoo’s main event starts at 4pm ET, so it doesn’t include the start of 1pm ET. Here are some players you can target and avoid in your daily fantasy lineup.

KEEPER

John Gibson, ANA vs. MON ($ 28): Admittedly, it hasn’t been a good season for Gibson. However, this is the kind of match where it may not matter. The Canadiens are on their way to their second match in as many days, while the Ducks are at home and rested. In addition, Montreal has averaged just 1.89 goals and shot 28.0. The Habit are unbeaten on offense and have a weak goalkeeper, so I see Gibson rise to victory at least today.

MALIVAL TO AVOID

Dustin Tokarski, BUF at LOS ($ 29): Tokarski arrives third of the goalkeepers at the highest salary, and one of those above him is Chris Driedger, which is out of order. I just don’t see it. Tokarski has released 1.40 GAA and 0.950 percent savings on two starts. Prior to this, he succeeded in his career with a GAA of 3.05 and a rebound of 0.904 percent. Tokarski is 32 years old and I don’t see him suddenly becoming an elite goalkeeper. This is more of a bet against him than a bet against LA, although the Kings have scored 36.0 net shots per game.

CENTER

Trevor Zegras, ANA vs. MON ($ 17): In his second NHL season (played only 24 matches last year), Zegras ’minutes have jumped from 15:24 to 17:50. He is now also in the top power repeater unit. This helped the 20-year-old get five points and 26 shots. As I mentioned earlier, the Canadiens are on the second leg in a row and Samuel Montembeault in his career, the 0.890 percent savings is projected to be net.

CENTER TO AVOID

Nico Hischier, NJD vs. CLM ($ 19): The Devils play on consecutive days, but they are at home. However, it is still not an ideal situation Joonas Korpisalo will be online unlike Elvis merzlikins, Hischier has only one goal and one pass, so it doesn’t seem like he’s started his season strongly.

Patrik Laine, At CLM NJD ($ 17): Laine struggled last year after being dealt to Blue Jackets, making it harder to remember a star who scored 44 goals during her second-year campaign. This year, he seems to be finding his foothold. Laine has only two goals, but he has added four assists and 19 goals. And his 10.5 launch rate would be a career low, so he’s likely to see a rise there. It’s also helpful to face a team that retained 3.38 GAA last season.

Jeff Skinner, BUF at LOS ($ 12): Speaking of guys who filled the net, Remember when Skinner scored 40 goals in his first season at Sabers? He is currently at three points, but he has been active as usual. The former Hurricane have started 60.4 percent of their turn in the offensive zone and scored 24 shots in seven matches. LA is consecutive, and Jonathan Quick will probably come online. As a reminder, Quick has released 0.897 percent savings over the last four seasons.

WINGS TO AVOID

Yegor Sharangovich, NJD vs. CLM ($ 17): Sharangovich was a promising newcomer with 30 points in 54 games. However, his minutes have dropped a bit this season and have dropped to the third row in Jersey. Maybe it’s because he’s only scored three points – all passes – with 12 shots to score in six matches. And of course he is on the second day in a row.

Brandon Tanev, SEA vs. NYR ($ 16): Tanev have already scored six goals with his new team. Of course, this is 33.3 percent shooting. That’s a figure that drops significantly. The Rangers could help run a regression with 2.25 GAA to start the campaign.

DEFENSE

Zach Werenski, At CLM NJD ($ 19): Werensk doesn’t Seth Jones around anymore, and he has risen by six points so far. The 24-year-old has also averaged a staggering 3:49 per game in a power game. Scott Wedgewood is likely to be on the Devils net and will enter the career with a 0.901 percent savings.

Cam Fowler, ANA vs. MON ($ 16): Fowler has become a forgotten veteran defender, perhaps because the Ducks have been pretty lousy for a few years. But he still had 23 points last season and five to start this year. Keep in mind that Montembeault is probably online for this and his career 0.890 percent off.

DEFENSE TO AVOID

Dougie Hamilton, NJD vs. CLM ($ 29): Hamilton is a great defender, which is why his salary is so steep. In fact, only two attackers have a higher value. After playing in Pittsburgh yesterday for consecutive days, this competition is more difficult. I don’t want to pay that kind of salary if I can avoid it.

Mark Giordano, SEA vs. NYR ($ 17): Giordano has scored in four consecutive races, but his 11.1-shot percentage is likely to decline. The 38-year-old blueliner is unlikely to suddenly become a shooter. He might be ahead Igor Shesterkin today, and he contributes with 1.81 GAA and 0.944 savings.
