Cricket is investing more in strategic community cricket facility projects than ever before through the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF), now with additional support from the Australian Cricketers ’Association through the Grassroots Cricket Fund.
Through ACIF and the Grassroots Cricket Fund, Queensland Cricket and Cricket Australia provide clubs, associations, schools, councils and other cricket facility managers with the opportunity to apply for initial funding for cricket facility projects that are prioritized Queensland Cricket Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2028.

- ACIF applications for the 2021-22 season in Queensland opened on Monday, September 13, 2021.
- ACIF applications for the 2021-22 season in Queensland will end on Friday, November 5, 2021.

1. How much funding can I apply for?
For the period 2020-21, ACIF Queensland will provide funding in the following categories:
Community Cricket Infrastructure Grants – Low = $ 1,000- $ 10,000

Project examples: Pitts, refurbishment of training facilities, refurbishment of a small conversion room / pavilion, support infrastructure

Seed funding up to 50% of the total project cost (with a lower percentage of favorable views)
Community Cricket Infrastructure Grants – Large = $ 10,001-30,000

Project Examples: New Training Facilities, Major Oval Upgrades, Sports Lighting, Upgrades / Pavilions Upgrades, Major Renovations.

Seed funding up to 50% of the total project cost (with a lower percentage of favorable views)

2. How can I apply for funding from ACIF?
There is a formal online application process for each ACIF round. Use here.
You will be prompted to click on the Draft Collaboration in the Application Form to be submitted so that QC staff can review your application and possibly assist you with your application information.
3. What kind of projects receive funding from ACIF?
Queensland cricket projects a priority The Queensland Cricket Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2028 will also be a priority for ACIF seed funding.
All project plans applying to the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund must comply with Cricket Australian rules. Community Cricket Facility Guidelines.
QCIS’s strategic priorities and projects are regularly updated. ACIF-funded projects in Queensland typically focus on one or more of the following QCIS objectives:
- Activation of existing infrastructure to increase participation
- Creating flexible and inclusive cricket environments,
- increasing the sustainability and / or capacity of the plant,
- Improving the quality of cricket infrastructure and / or
- Supporting, strengthening and connecting talent paths.
Typical projects include the construction or improvement / refurbishment of cricket fields, ovals, training facilities, changing rooms, pavilions and other cricket-supporting infrastructure, with an increasing focus on the development and improvement of sports lighting.
4. Who can apply for ACIF?
Queensland clubs, associations, councils, schools, facility managers, or other organizations that act as a tenant, owner, operator, or manager of a community cricket center.
5. Are there any projects that are not supported by ACIF?
ACIF does not support:
- Projects that have already begun
- Sports equipment (eg stumps, balls)
- Routine maintenance or service equipment
- Temporary facilities
- Projects did not focus on club and community cricket
- Projects that can be covered by insurance
- Premises previously financed (unless a new component or phase of premises) and
- Premises to which public access is not restricted
- Oval Cricket Fence (unless part of a larger project)
- Inventories (unless part of a larger project)
6. What if my project does not meet the funding guidelines?
We recommend that you carefully check that your project meets the guidelines before submitting your application. ACIF financial guidelines are available here.
