There was a lot of hope for this season on the Texas football program, especially after the skill set had returned to full crowd, including a Redshirt junior wide receiver. Joshua Moore. Moore was Texas ’leading returning breadth this year. And it looked like he could be part of a seriously powerful trio in broad receiver status, including freshman Xavier Worthy and red-shirt sophomore Jordan Whittington.

However, it quickly escaped as this Longhorns triangle has only one-third going to the Kansas Jayhawks game next weekend. Whittington crashed earlier this season due to a long-term injury. And Moore is now on the NCAA Transfer Portal after about three seasons in the program.

It was up and down Moore with Longhorns. He got virtually a one-season ban under former Texas head coach Tom Herman in 2019. But he has a really solid 2020 campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was one of Longhorns ’best skill players last season. He recorded 30 with 472 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

The connection between Moore and this new coaching staff just didn’t look right. His production slowed this season. He didn’t run routes as efficiently, he had more drops and less controversial catches. It seems Moore believes he is best placed to take his skills elsewhere after new head coach Steve Sarkisian struck out last week in practice.
